United We Fall

The first peace, which is the most important, is that which comes within the souls of people when they realize their relationship, their oneness with the universe and all its powers, and when they realize that at the center of the universe dwells the Great Spirit, and that this center is really everywhere, it is within each of us.

I've always loved the depth of American Indian spirituality.

My mother's family is Choctaw. Taught at the BIA schools on the Oklahoma Reservation to hate their own language, customs, culture. Drifted away from the Res and married white men and commenced to passing. But those women never lost their internalized race hatred, hating their own young, reminders of that past. Becoming oppressors, who kept passing the self hatred on. It stopped with me. No more abused kids, I'm the last of the line.

Thanks for coming to visit me. I appreciate you comment, but it raises a lot of questions with I will ask at home.
